What we do all day

Throughout the summer I will attempt to keep adding pictures to this page to keep up with what we do. Hopefully there will be some fire pictures here soon, but most certainly there will be some more of the routine duties that we do. These first four are of making hosepacks and doing tool maintenance, very routine for fire crews.

Training is a very important part of life on this job. We do vehicle and dumpster fire training with breathing apparatus each year. Here are some pictures I took of Amanda and Jake trying to put out a propane fired car.

Here are some pictures Amanda took on the Ferris fire, that happened recently. She and Jake had been working with Engine 14 when this fire started, and they made initial attack. The fire ended up at 18 acres. Also, there are a couple of pictures of James feeding a golden mantle ground squirrel... they are quite tame up at Frenchman Work Center.

The Juniper fire was a single tree, quite a mess after it fell over. We also spent a couple of days off forest on the Rush fire. The Rush picture is of everyone watching a movie on a laptop computer in fire camp... oh, modern technology!
